My Story

I have always been an artist at heart. I was born and raised in Kazakhstan, where I attended a highly academic and competitive art school. The school provided a very rigorous training which gave me a strong foundation in the fine arts. In 2000, I moved to Seattle and continued my art education there, studying privately with many different artists working in the field as well as taking college level art classes. In high school I had two exhibitions at The Triangle Gallery in downtown Seattle.

In 2004 I moved to The Bay Area where I worked as an art teacher at The Berkeley Russian School for 3 years.  I created a unique art and Waldorf-inspired theater program for English and Russian speaking children ages 3-6 years old.

In 2005, soon after my daughter was born, I started face painting for fun at the Fairfax Farmer’s Market. I came to realize that I could integrate my two loves, which are working with children and art. Over the next few years my dabbling in face painting at the market grew into clients asking me to paint at birthday parties and events and so I decided to take my skills to the next level.

In 2008, I traveled to my first Face and Body Art International Convention in Orlando, Florida.  I came back with so much knowledge and new materials that my business took off! In 2013 I won 1st place in The Professional Level Face Painting Competition at the Face and Body Art International Convention in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  A few weeks later my story appeared on the cover of The Marin Independent Journal.

When I am not face painting or working on my business, I enjoy raising my 8 year old daughter Sasha in the beautiful Marin County, CA.
